Nigeria’s goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has become the talk of the continent, with memes created to mock him over his young age.
Uzoho, who played in Nigeria’s first match against Croatia, was thoroughly trolled on social media, with many fans across the world, taking a swipe at him over his age.
Many of the fans feel he is older, going by his physical appearance. According to his bio, Uzoho, who plays for Spanish La Liga side Deportivo de La Coruña, was born on October 28, 1998, and started his football career as a forward in a Qatari football academy before being converted to a goalkeeper at the age of 11/12.
He was part of the team that won the 2013 under 17 tournaments in UAE, aged 14 years. On October 15, 2017, the 18-year-old he made his debut for Deportivo against Eibar, becoming the youngest foreign goalkeeper in the Spanish First Division.
