Last month, Opposition Leader Raila Odinga surprised many people when he met President Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee House, and signed a unity agreement.

After signing the agreement, Odinga became unpredictable, with all his other political moves catching Kenyans unaware.

Unlike the past when the former Premier traversed the country with a huge delegation, Odinga now uses a small team, arguably his trusted allies to attend different  political meetings.

Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, has emerged as a key member of Odinga's delegation whenever the Opposition Leader is attending a high stake event.

In just a month, Nyong'o has been part of Odinga's delegation in two important events in Kenya and out of the country.

A few weeks ago, the Kisumu Governor accompanied Odinga to Zimbabwe for the funeral of Zimbabwean Opposition Chief Morgan Tsvangirai, and on Friday, Nyong'o was part of Odinga's delegation that visited former President Mwai Kibaki.

The visit to the former President, was a high stake meeting, and many people expected the former Prime Minister to have Senator James Orengo, ODM Chairman John Mbadi, and Minority Whip in the National Assembly Junet Mohammed, but he settled on Nyong'o.

Could this be a sign that Odinga is finally nurturing Nyong'o to be his successor? Could it be that Raila has found a right-hand man in the Kisumu Governor?

All these are questions lingering on the mind of Odinga's supporters, however, one thing is for sure, only time will tell.
