Mulika Uhalifu is an online mobile application which allows Kenyans to report any cases of insecurity and other vices without disclosing their identities.
Grace Wanjohi is a Nakuru resident and is the beautiful brain behind the app that has made reporting of crime much easier.
According to Wanjohi, the whole idea behind the app was to enable Kenyans to report cases anonymously.
“Now Kenyans from every corner of the country can feel free to report cases of crime by sending a short message to 22068 and the good thing about this is that the identity of the person reporting is hidden,” said Wanjohi.
When one sends a message to the app, it is received by at least 80 people including senior security officers in the area of the reported crime.
Once security officers receive the message they carry out due intelligence and gather information before acting.
She said the platform has led to a considerable decrease of crimes in urban areas as police are able to act promptly when a crime is reported.
