Charity Kathambi Chepkwony might be the first woman MP Njoro Constituency after she merged winner in the just concluded Jubilee Party nominations.
Njoro was formerly part of the larger Molo constituency before it was given the status of a constituency and has had Joseph Kiuna as the MP for two terms. He lost the Jubilee ticket to Charity Gathambi Chepkwony.
Mrs.Charity Gathambi Chepkwony is a member of the Kenya Literature Bureau board and has been involved in various projects to empower people in community.
In her victory speech, she thanked the people of Njoro for nominating her in what she termed free and fair exercise.
“I would like to thank the people of Njoro for having confidence in me and I promise to work with you forward. This has been the most free and fair nomination exercise ever in Njoro” she said.
