He then started going for dialysis at local health facilities before his family took him to India for a transplant, with his father being the first donour.

While being interviewed by KTN reporters on Sunday, Emmanuel said that the process was successful but the new kidney failed three hours later.

He then received two more kidneys from family members but have both failed making dialysis the only possible solution.

"My father was the first donour but the kidney worked for only three hours, I then received another from my brother which failed as well.

In 2007 my sister became the third donour but that too failed after three months," he said.

Emmanuel, who has lost his initial height and ended up with a hunchback as a result of the disease said that despite being through a tough time, he thanks God for being alive as it had come to a time that his doctors had given up on him.

"After my last operation, the doctors gave up on me saying that I had only a few days to live but here i am. I Think we should just let God be God, lets just do our part, ours is just faith but lets let God do what he pleases," he said.

He now goes for two dialysis sessions weekly with each costing him Sh12,000.
