The 23-year-old is a song producer, musician, and a DJ.He owns his own studio, Syncity Music Studio, which has earned him the title of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).Serem, who is the first born in a family of three, took a liking to music back in 2010 when he was in secondary school. His passion and love for music led him to set up a music studio in his living room in 2014."I used my HELB loan of Sh13,000 to start my own studio. I was forced to begin with a small simple studio since I did not have a lot of capital," said Serem.

The young musician now makes more than Sh50,000 per month from the studio as well as his deejaying career as he makes several appearances in different clubs in Kisii.

"I don't have a specific schedule or routine that I follow on a daily basis but whenever I have a pending job, I ensure that I’m awake by 5am, when my mind is still fresh," he said.

Having been in the production industry for four years now, his music label has signed various artists in Eldoret and Kisii including King kid, Maduu, Lucky G among others.

"My greatest achievement is having a studio which is functional. However, I still have dreams of expanding it in the near future," said Serem.

Serem said his greatest challenge is lack of enough support from the community, which doesn't believe in music as a career.

Competition from other producers in the region is also a challenge that Serem encounters every day.

He, however, notes that his discipline and passion in music is what keeps him going.

"Passion, love, and discipline make you grow in your businesses. Remember to also put God first in everything," he said.
