On Friday, NASA leader Raila Odinga flew to South Africa to hold talks with President Cyril Ramaphosa and South Sudan opposition leader Riek Machar in an effort to end the South Sudanese conflict.
And once again, the ODM Chief picked some of his most trusted allies to be part of his delegation in his diplomatic mission with Suna East MP Junet Mohammed being top on the list.
The National Assembly Minority Whip has permanently cemented his place in former Prime Minister's heart and has emerged as a key member of his inner circle.
When Raila travelled to South Sudan last month on the same reconciliation mission and met President Salva Kiir, the lawmaker was also part of that delegation. And since then, he has attended nearly all high-profile events that the former Premier has attended.
Being the only MP from both sides of the political divide to participate in such a crucial mission is in itself a confirmation that Junet Mohammed has completely won the trust of a politician of Raila's stature.
And for the Suna East lawmaker, he is going to make political capital out of it going into the next election where it is rumoured that he might go for the Migori Governor seat and of course with Raila's blessings.
