She goes by the name Mildred Akinyi, one of the few independent ladies in campus who are not discouraged by their humble backgrounds.
Mildred is a student at Moi University main campus in Eldoret and she is a proud owner of a boutique as well as a network marketer marking 20 000 shillings a month on an average.
Hilariously, she wanted to be a soldier because she loves being in uniform but she decided not to fight the country’s enemies but to be a patriot in business since she could not stand being broke in the university.
“When I joined campus, I met new friends from different backgrounds. We could go shopping together but since my financial status was humble, I never liked to be busked most of the time and that is when I ventured into business of networking and later opened up a boutique,” narrated Akinyi.
She also said that her best experiences in network marketing is meeting new and corporative friends who also helps her to focus on new challenges that includes increasing competition, shift in networking trends and keeping quality consistently high.

Mildred added that it is painful to lose friends who think they are no longer her caliber and as a network marketer, not achieving her daily targets gives her a blow.
“Sometimes you wake up to lose a friend because they think you do not have time for them and you are no longer in their status,” Mildred added.
Nevertheless, she is able to collect 5000 shillings a week with a vision of expanding her business to pocket more while in campus.
Despite the challenges, she always feels motivated by her passion for business and ambitions to achieve more in life and to help others.
