Twenty-four year old Innocent Tsalwa has hit the media coverage industry with a storm.
This is after he ventured into covering events.
Tsalwa, a Kisii university graduate in journalism, started his company (Inno Films) in 2014 while he was still pursuing his degree.
“I started way back when I was in second year by covering my church’s services using a hired camera and since then I never looked back,” he said.
He says he upgraded to covering weddings, funerals and other events after he bought his first camera but still hired some more for efficiency but after several years in his hustle, he secured new cameras to cut the hiring cost.
“I remember I used to hire cameras to help me in my duty but after savings I was able to get new ones including drones which has made my job look professional,” he said.
With fours years in the industry, Tsalwa charges his services from Sh20,000 to Sh70,000 depending on event’s requirements.
His business has enabled him facilitate all his bills including his Masters degree.
Tsalwa admits that he undergoes various challenges in his business as it tends to be seasonal depending on the months of the year.
"The job is at the pick in April, August and December as many people are on holidays, therefore many events are held in these times.”
He advises the youth that self-employment it the best key to success and that they should specialize in what they love.
