Lack of employment has led to one trained P1 teacher to start a baber shop in Nyamira County.
Erustus Mongare, a trained teacher from Machakos Teachers Training College class of 2013 has opened the 'kinyozi' shop opposite Nyamira women finance bank due to lack of employment.
"I finished my form four from Gekano boys in the year 1995, but i joined college the year 2012 due to lack of school fees," said Mongare.
He has worked in different companies to raise for his fees to go back to college since he finished high school, and after finishing college, he joined a private school as a teacher for three years but the conditions were not conducive for him.
"After college I joined a private school as a science, social studies teacher for two years, but I left the job because the wages were so minimal than of having my own barber shop," he added.
The kinyozi attendant settled on his business which he says feeds his family and life is better compared to when he was employed as a teacher.
However, he still finds time to go through his books which he keeps in his house,.
"Once a teacher always a teacher," he said.
