Having the love for a clean environment, he started recycling glass bottles in 2017. Osewe has turned these bottles into beautiful flower vases and house decorations using simple environmental friendly materials. Osewe uses sewing strings and Ankara fabrics to carefully coat the bottles into admirable finishings.“I use simple fabric to make patterns on the glass bottles. At times I go by the client’s preferences and tastes,” he said.He says he has employed various street children in Kisii town who deliver these bottles where he pays them Sh20 per bottle. His hard work has seen his business pay his bills and changing the life of the street boys in town.“I sell one vase at Sh350 but it varies with the material used and the size of the bottle. In one day, I can make up to 10 bottles where I deliver to my customers at their homes or place or work,” he said. However, he has faced various challenges including inadequate capital to expand his business and lack of enough market where he can sell his products. “It started as an idea and then I implemented it. Now here it is, growing day by day. The youths should not be afraid of putting into practice their new ideas. Success comes after several failures,” he concluded.
