The meeting would have brought together 15 KNUN officials, the health minister, the Council of Governors, all 47 directors of Nursing services in the counties, The Kenya Medical Training College, the National Association of Kenya and the Nursing Council of Kenya. The CoG chief of staff Jacqueline Mogena disclosed that she had to cancel the meeting after some officials confirmed not to attend.Mogeni said that that union is an important custodian in the nurses' strike and thus no point of proceeding with the meeting with the union not fully represented. In a post by the KNUN secretary general Seth Panyako on the Nurses, Facebook page and Telegram channel confirmed the boycott."After deep scrutiny, we realized that it was a ploy by the CoG to have the nurse's managers take a vote against Panyako and subsequently call off the strike," stated the post.
