Uasin Gishu County CEC in charge of Trade Philip Melly has declared interest in Uasin Gishu senate seat.
He says he has what it takes to be the the next senator.
"I have worked in the public service for long therefore I have the experience to solve problems that wananchi face," he said on Tuesday during the launch of Uasin Gishu hawkers SACCO in Eldoret on Tuesday.
He added, "Due to much pressure from the electorate I have decided i will be in the race."
He said if given a chance by the electorate, he will transform infrastructure, education sector and create employment for thousand of jobless youths.
"I urge wananchi to put their trust in me by giving me their votes and I promise in the next five years Uasin Gishu County will never be the same again," noted Melly.
Uasin Gishu County senatorial race to has attracted the incumbent Isaac Melly, former Minister Prof Margaret Kamar and the Chairman of Lake Victoria Water Service Board Joseph Lagat.
