Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi insists that only Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has real chances of beating President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 elections.
The opposition coalition Cord is yet to settle on an ideal candidate with both Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula challenging Odinga to support them.
Memusi’s statement comes barely two days after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho maintained that opposition would only perform with Odinga as their flag bearer.
“Raila has huge following across all Kenyan communities and it will be a lie to say that he can’t win. He is the only person who can unseat Kenyatta to be honest,” he said on Tuesday when receiving a section of Maasai leaders who had defected to ODM.
“He has interests of all communities at heart and this is our time to pull a trigger and propel him to State House. He has real chances and all of us should understand that,” he added urging Maasai community to register as voters.
Memusi is the only elected ODM MP from Kajiado County and replaced Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery in a fierce by election over a year ago.
