Health tests and screenings are important for both men and women in detecting illnesses early. It is well known then most women are used to undergoing health tests compared to men.
In this article you will find tests that men should never ignore;
1. Prostate cancer screening
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer found in men after lung cancer. It is a slow growing cancer but there are some aggressive forms that grow so fast. Screening can find the disease earlier before it develops hence effective treatment.
2. Testicular cancer
Testicular cancer is an uncommon form of cancer that affects the testes and the glands that produce sperms. It is common for ages 20 to 54. Signs of this type of cancer are smooth bumps on the testes and change in the sizes of the testes. Men are urged to do early screening to avoid growth.
3. Skin cancer
Skin cancer is one of the most common cancer in both men and women. This type of cancer is called melanoma and begins with cells called melanocytes that give the skin its color. Men are advised to regularly check this with their doctors anytime they visit the hospital.
4. High blood pressure (Hypertension)
This is related to age and lifestyle. Hypertension is a condition where the blood pressure is above normal and can lead to arterial blood congestion causing the arteries to bust. However, this can be detected early before severe complications such as kidney disease and heart failure are developed.
5. Cholesterol levels
Men are advised to go for cholesterol level tests to determine the amount of cholesterol on the body. Having a lot of cholesterol in the body may cause blockage of the arteries limiting blood flow. This can as well cause high blood pressure. Early tests are good for early treatments.
