As the world was celebrating the International day for Street Children yesterday, Kisii town street children marked the day by accusing some men who sodomise them.
Speaking to the Media on Tuesday at Gusii stadium during the celebration which was organised by Community-Based Organisations led by Askari ni Rafiki and Smile a Child, the street children expressed the challenges which they pass through in the streets.
They said that there is a group of men who cheat them with some shillings and end up sodomising them something that has affected their health.
Hyborn Nyachio (not real name) who is a street boy said that many of his colleagues have been affected by the men.
“There are some people who call us and give us some shillings and force us to sleep with them, many of us are affected with this menace, we appeal to well wishers to help us," said Nyachio.
In addition, he said that the victims are well known to them since they operate within the town.
“We know those men who give us some money since they operate within the town so we urge well wishers to help us," added Nyachio.
The boy further explains that he found himself in the streets of Kisii because his father used to beat him after coming home drunk.
The Community-Based Organizations also said that they are going to follow up so that the culprits are found and taken to court.
