Men who drink and walk home at night in Thika sub-county’s Kamenu ward are at risk of being sodomised, a local Nyumba Kumi committee has warned.
Citing abuse claims by men who pass by the market at night, Josphat Ochieng’ said victims risk getting sexually transmitted diseases from the attackers.
Men who claim to have been attacked say they find a gang of men at the junction point of the area who attack and strip them naked and proceed to perform the beastly act.
The Nyumba Kumi official said his committee has come up with a way to deal with the matter and they will soon catch up with the culprits. Ochieng’ revealed that the security committee has already informed the police on patrol about the matter.
"It is a problem that needs immediate attention. We will deal with anyone caught at the site at night," Ochieng’ said.
Area chief David Kamau said he was working with police officers at his camp to contain the problem.
“I have a very good strategy that will see us nab the culprits. We will do this in partnership with the police in my camp,” he said.
