Appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, Waziri denied all the charges and will remain in custody until Tuesday when his bond application will be mentioned.

After four days of detention at Muthaiga Police Station the key suspect in a scam targeting high ranking officials was arraigned in court to answer to six counts including conspiracy to defraud, impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence.

Wazir Benson Masubo Chacha was charged with procuring registration of Safaricom mobile number in the name of Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege and using the fake M-pesa account to solicit money.

According to particulars, on the 3rd of March this year within Nairobi County, Waziri attempted to obtain 120,000 shillings from Jakoyo Midiwo purporting to be Sabina Chege a fact he knew was false.Wazir who appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, denied all the six counts and will remain in custody until Tuesday when his bond application will be mentioned.
