The search for a missing middle-aged man in a Naivasha village ended on a sour note after his decomposing body was found dangling from a tree.

The body of 31-year-old Stephen Ngige Waweru was found on Thursday by women fetching firewood at Gatamaiyu forest.

Incidentally the deceased who was mentally unstable was to marry next month and was on the last stages of his wedding preparations when he disappeared.

Soon after his body was found, Karate village was sent into a mourning mood with residents describing him as a man of God who led a quiet life.

A senior police officer who did not want to be named confirmed the incident saying that the body  has been collected and taken to the Naivasha County referral hospital mortuary.
