The 2016 Groove Awards gala was held on Wednesday night at Safaricom Stadium, indoor arena.The awarding ceremony saw many gospel artistes bag awards for their outstanding performances.
Mercy Masika and L-Jay Maasai bagged the Female artist of the year and male artist of the year awards respectively. The duo also received a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance.
Other musicians who topped the list were Everlyne Wanjiru and Vicky Kitonga. The two vocal ladies bagged the collabo of the year category award with their hit song Tulia.
Gospel video and audio producers also had something to smile about as they were also honoured at the event.
The video and audio producer awards went to Sammy Dee of True-D Picture and Saint P respectively.
Other artistes who were celebrated were gospel dancers who were categorised under Dance Group Of the Year. Shinning in this category were the Jims & Dims dancers.
The Safaricom sponsored event takes place annually at different locations, prior to the award ceremony, gospel artistes are allowed to tour the country to seek votes from people.
