Ochieng said that women and youth enterprise fund should all be merged into Uwezo kitty so that the funds could reach out to many beneficiaries.

Ugenya legislator claimed that Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) and Youth Enterprise Fund (YEF) had not been of much beneficial as only a few groups, according to him, get to benefit from the Youth Fund kitty unlike with the current case of Uwezo Fund that Ochieng alleged benefits more groups.

Addressing locals at Sega Primary in his Ugenya constituency during the disbursement of Uwezo Fund cheques worth Sh6.7 million to 76 women, youth and persons with disabilities groups, Ochieng advised the beneficiaries of the funds to channel the cash into viable businesses that will enable them get profit and grow their businesses.

He also advised them to practice table banking so that money could constantly circulate among group members for their own growth.

Siaya County Women Representative Christine Ombaka who is also the County Uwezo Fund patron, told women and the youth to work hard and utilise the Uwezo Fund given to them to do businesses that will uplift their lives.
