Suba MP and ODM chairman John Mbadi has expressed optimism that ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi will work together in 2017.
"Raila and Mudavadi have a string chemistry since they have been together for long and we believe they will work together despite their being no agreement," Mbadi was quoted as saying by a local daily on Wednesday.
According to Mbadi, the process of picking the coalition's flag bearer will be an uphill.
He said individuals aspiring to carry Cord's flag during the polls will be competitive and fair.
"If Mudavadi joins us in Cord, we will be happy to consolidate the votes, but they will have to agree together with other principals on the challenge of picking a presidential candidate," he added.
The question on who is going to be the Cord coalition presidential candidate in the forthcoming poll has been a subject of much attention with all the three principals showing interest for the seat.
However, the entry of Mudavadi has complicated the political matrix in the coalition with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula continuously insisting to be endorsed to be the coalition's flag bearer.
