The merger of Jubilee affiliated parties to form Jubilee Alliance party has been opposed by Nyaribari Chache Member of parliament.
According to Richard Tong’i, the proposed merger should be suspended for it will undermine democracy and above all, it will take Kenya to the earlier days where there was only one party to rule.
“Parties affiliated to Jubilee should not be forced to join one vehicle which we are sure will bring conflict in the near future as many parties allow democracy to thrive,” he added.
This comes barely a week after The National Alliance (TNA) Secretary-General Onyango Oloo said that all parties affiliated to Jubilee have until the end of August to join the Jubilee Alliance party.
JAP is expected to be the vehicle for Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 at the same time serve as the vehicle for current Deputy president William Samoei Ruto’s ambitions come 2017.
Speaking in Kiogoro the MP said the move to form one formidable political party was stoppable as it doesn’t reflect the mind of affiliated politicians.
