Muthoni, speaking from her Town Hall office in Thika on Tuesday said that county askaris will be on the watch out during the holidays to apprehend any offender.

"We want to maintain our town streets even cleaner than they are now. No one will be around to litter them whether during the day or night because our county askaris will be there to enforce the law," said Muthoni.

Muthoni said that there are enough dustbins in every street saying that there should be no excuse to litter the town. She noted that night time revellers had a habit of littering the town especially on weekends when there was little presence of county askaris.

"We expect many visitors to come or pass through the town during this season. So, as it is the African norm to put things in order when a visitor is coming, we expect that those with the habit of littering the streets will at least take a break from the bad habit," said Muthoni.
