Following an incident where a man hang on a helicopter carrying Cord leader Raila Odinga in Meru, Thursday, some few locals want air ticket fees, slashed.
The Meru incident occurred eight months after a similar incident in Bungoma, where a man hang on a chopper that ferried remains of the late Nairobi businessman and government critic, Jacob Juma, for burial in Kanduyi.
During the Meru incident, a man was heard complaining that air tickets in Kenya are expensive, a situation that forces some people with hopes to enter a plane, to hang on choppers, risking their lives.
"I want the government to reduce the amount paid for air tickets. It is always expensive. If it is reduced, we will enter planes and stop hanging on choppers that come in our villages,'' he said.
The man out-shined security officers and hanged on the chopper as it took off with Raila on board, leaving onlookers screaming in shock as they attempted to alert the pilot.
