A middle-aged man was on Wednesday found stabbed to death outside his house in Kiru Village, Kenyenya Sub county, Kisii County.
According to Kisii County Police commander Ms Agnes Mudambi, the incident was reported by Mr James Onyambu, a brother to the deceased.
"We received a report at around 11:30 p.m. last night from Mr Robert Onduso, regarding the discovery of his brother's body," Ms Mudambi said.
The police boss said that the brother to the deceased had been visiting a neighbour when he heard screams from his home.
Mr Onyambu said that while at a neighbour's home, he heard somebody screaming. On rushing there at around 10 p.m. he found his brother lying dead outside his house," said Ms Mudambi.
The deceased was identified as Robert Onduso, aged 41.
Ms Mudambi said officers who visuted the the scene found the body but did not recover the murder weapon.
"The bloodied body had a stab wound on the chest consistent with infliction a sharp object, and there were also bloodstains around the area indicating he was probably killed in the vicinity," said Ms Mudambi.
Police officers who were notified visited the scene body moved the body to Hema Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
No suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Investigations into the incident are underway.
