Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has accused his opponents of hatching a plot to cause chaos during Monday’s ODM nominations and blame it on him.As part of the scheme, Midiwo who is the deputy minority leader in the national assembly, said one of his opponents had printed T-Shirts bearing his name (Midiwo) that would be worn by the hired hooligans as to cause mayhem in the polling centers.
Midiwo urged his supporters not to put on ODM T- shirts on the nomination day.
He however urged his supporters to be vigilant and not give in to rigging machinations that he alleged had been hatched by his opponent who was working closely with a nominated Member of Parliament and area governor.
Midiwo called for peaceful, free and fair nomination process, saying that the electorate will not accept flawed nomination results.
“We are aware that the county elections board and other officials were selected by nominated Mp Oburu Odinga, governor Cornel Rasanga and Ugunja Mp Opiyo Wandayi. However, we are warning them that any attempt to rig the nominations in favour of their selected candidates will be resisted,” said Midiwo.
He urged Siaya residents to elect focused leaders who will help the county prosper and accused the current governor of giving the residents a raw deal since the advent of devolution.
Midiwo said giving governor Cornell Rasanga a second term would be tantamount to throwing the county to the dogs and perpetuating the plunder of public resources.
He was speaking at Komuok chiefs camp, Friday.
