Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo maintains that the opposition team will not participate in August elections should Independent Electrol and Boundaries Commission fail to audit voters register.

Last week, opposition leaders Klaonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga sensationally claimed that their national ID numbers had been used to register unknown people.

And on Sunday, Midiwo challenged Wafula Chebukati's commission to embark on a 'serious' audit of voter register for the sake of transparent elections.

"There will be no elections if the voter register is not properly audited. The commission should take that as a serious issue to avert an impending crisis," he said.

Midiwo added: "Kenyans are tired with these monkey games. We want every vote to count and that cannot happen with a dirty register in place."

Similar calls were made by Siaya senator James Orengo who said Kenyans would only accept a credible, verifiable and transparent election in August.
