Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo has now endorsed businessman William Oduol for the Siaya gubernatorial seat.
Speaking on Monday December 26, Midiwo took an opposite stance to his party leader Raila Odinga by saying that Oduol (together with another endorsee Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo) can spur the county to greater heights to outdo what governor Cornel Rasanga has done.
He tendered his apologies to Oduol for previously campaigning against him in the 2013 general elections.
Midiwo said that he would support the Gumbo-Oduol partnership regardless of whether they win or fail in the 2017 polls.
Reports from the county show that Gumbo and Oduol have formed a formidable alliance with the purpose of unseating Rasanga who is blamed over claims of underdevelopment and corruption at the county government.
This is however expected to go the wrong way with party leader Raila Odinga whose brother Oburu Odinga has already thrown his support behind incumbent Rasanga's re-election.
