Midiwo says that there is a need to reduce the number of Members of County Assembly (MCAs), Senators, Women Representatives, Governors and Members of Parliament (MPs) in order to cut on the ballooning wage bill.

The MP also noted there is duplication of work among in the senate, national assembly, and county assemblies.

Calls for scrapping out of some seats have been fronted by other leaders across the political divide among them Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

Kuria late last year launched a campaign dubbed ‘Punda Amechoka’ aimed at collecting signatures to amend the constitution to have some political seats scrapped.

According to Kuria, he intends to continue the campaign of collecting signatures to scrap some seats as the country heads to the 2017 general elections.
