Orange Democratic Movement party loyalist Jakoyo Midowo has urged the electorate not to re-elect Jubilee come August 8, polls. He complained about starving Kenyans, corruption, ghost projects and marginalization among other ills.

Speaking during The State of the Nation program aired on Citizen television, Midowo disputed government development record as outlined by Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale. The former had said Jubilee deserves a second term to complete the remaining 30% of its pledges to Kenyans.

He (Duale) gave credit to President Uhuru for reducing the police-citizen ratio, introducing free maternal health and improving internal security.

Midowo said Jubilee has not honored the manifesto it presented to electorates thus it does not merit a second term. According to Jakoyo, the economy is collapsing as Kenyans struggle to feed themselves. He wondered why the government promised to reduce the cost of living but still skyrocketed the prices of basic commodities like Unga.

“We don’t think much has changed with the Jubilee government. The cost of Unga is now Sh 145 from Sh 80 four years ago,” said Midowo.

On SGR and road construction, Midowo says there is no 6500 Km of road network and the railway project was inflated.

“They tell you they have built roads. Where are the roads? SGR project is the most expensive project that has been undertaken in Africa,” he said.
