Jakoyo Midiwo has challenged ODM National Elections Board to handover Busia County gubernatorial certificate to Funyula MP Paul Otuoma.

On Friday, the board nullified results in which incumbent Sospeter Ojamoong had reportedly won after scooping over 92,000 of votes to Otuoma’s 63,000 votes.

But the Gem MP says the results were cooked by ‘cocoon’s in Orange House and warned that repeating the polls could further throw the party to a perilous predicament.

“The Busia elections were so open that no one can deny Otuoma won. NEB should retract its decision to repeat the exercise and handover the ticket to Mr. Otuoma to avoid confusion,” he said.

The Deputy National Assembly Minority Leader added: “The results from Teso constituencies were exaggerated and that could be a blow to our internal democracy.”

In a shocking result, Ojamoong was projected winner in both Teso North and Teso South with results showing that he scooped more than 99 percent of registered votes.

On his part, Mr. Otuoma has since turned down repeat directives and issued an ultimatum to NEB to handover certificate to him.
