Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo has supported the sentiments by the opposition leader Raila Odinga that the government is trying to arrest and prosecute the Auditor General Edward Ouko.
Raila threatened that should there be any attempt to arrest Ouko then Cord would hold demonstrations.
"Raila is right because the Auditor Generals' Office is an independent office," Midiwo told AMLive on NTV.
"They are now using Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to frustrate him(Ouko) reason being they do not want him to tell Kenyans where the Sh282 billion went to," he added.
Midiwo said that the Reserve Bank of New York was the banker to the Kenyan government and that Ouko had every right to interrogate it.
"Let me tell you something about the Reserve Bank of New York. It is the banker to the Kenyan Government and Ouko is an independent officer who should be knowing what the government does with the Reserve Bank of New York. Raila and all of us owe a duty to this nation to tell the president to do the right thing," he added.
