Raila Odinga’s long-time ally and Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has threatened to leave the ODM party.

Midiwo said he will walk out of Raila’s party if he is not handed a nomination certificate.

He said he will vie as an independent candidate if he does not receive the ticket by today, Monday.

The lawmaker lost in the ODM primaries to Elisha Odhiambo.

“I won the ODM certificate for Gem constituency, ODM party should do the right thing and hand me the certificate,” said Mr Midiwo during a political visit to Ndori market.

He added, “The party is hell bent on awarding our competitors, they doctored the results in their favour and expect us to watch them hand them the nomination certificates, we will not allow that to happen.”

He was in the company of Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda, Rarieda’s Nicholas Gumbo and Florence Aludo (Woman Representative aspirant).

Gumbo lost to Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga in the governor nominations.

Aludo was beaten by the incumbent, Dr Christine Ombaka.

The losers assured their supporters that they will be on the ballot come August 8.
