National Assembly Deputy Minority leader Jakoyo Midiwo has vowed to block ODM’s election chairperson Judith Pareno’s nomination to the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Midiwo, who lost the Gem parliamentary ticket, alongside other ODM legislators who failed to clinch the tickets, blamed Pareno for their downfall.
The Furious MPs alleged the chairperson had mismanaged the party primaries and denied them party tickets.
“If we allow somebody too sit in a hotel room and come up with the names and then ask the National Assembly to rubber-stamp, then you would have killed democracy. If you are a person who can commit crime against some of us and we are made to look like losers, then it is wrong,” said Midiwo, Thursday.
Other names forwarded by the opposition to the clerks of the two houses of parliament for the EALA slots were Abubakar Zein, Ronald Ngeny and Kennedy Musyoka, son to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
