Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has dismissed reports that he now supports Siaya governor Cornel Rasanga's 2017 re-election bid.
The claims came after the two ODM politicians met and shook hand at ex-Gem MP Joe Donde’s home.
"Yes we met and shook hand as friends of Mr Donde but that does not mean I support his re-election. Rasanga is my friend but I do not like his leadership style,'' said Midiwo.
They had gone for a family celebration, that was also attended by Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
"Persons spreading rumuors that I now support Rasanga's re-election are nothing but wishful thinkers,'' he added.
Speaking at his Mabinju home village in South Gem ward, the National Assembly Deputy Minority leader said he would rather support
Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo or businessman William Oduol.
The two are seeking to unseat Rasanga in the upcoming general polls.
