Former ODM MP Jakoyo Midiwo has said he will not consider taking a cabinet secretary post even if it was offered to him.
Speaking on Tuesday morning during the AM breakfast show on NTV, the former MP who is a close ally of Raila Odinga said he cannot take such a chance because it would legitimize the current government.
Members allied to the opposition have insisted they cannot recognize the current government, saying it is in office illegally.
“As far as this issue with the cabinet is concerned, it is settled. If I said yes, I would be legitimizing a very precarious scenario. In fact, in my village, I will be the next Tuju,” he said.
He went on to say the country needs good leaders who can at times sit together and find solutions to problems dogging them.
“This country needs leaders who can ran, stop and look back to see where did the rain start beating us, otherwise we will go to the dogs,” he added.
The issue cabinet appointments continue to elicit reactions, especially after President Kenyatta named the first batch of his cabinet secretaries almost two weeks ago.
The second batch is expected to be named anytime soon, with the president under pressure to ensure his cabinet is all inclusive.
