Migori Association of Night Runners on Thursday October 20 joined other Kenyans in celebrating Mashujaa day.
If you thought that Night Runners do not have heroes in their lives then you are wrong.
Hundreds of night runners thronged Migori Primary school grounds to mark this year’s celebration.
Despite being denied an opportunity to showcase their unique talent to the world at an official function presided over by Governor Okoth Obado, these experts did not sit back home when Kenyans were celebrating freedom fighters.
Speaking at the event, the 'talented and dedicated' night runners, who were led by their President Jack Songo said it is high time the national and county government recognized this rare talent and used them to steer development in various parts of the nation.
Some of the activities that this group has been engaging include running and “playing” with wild animals such as hyenas, snakes and crocodiles among others.
The president of the association vowed to lead his 'talented' team to represent the nation in the Summer Olympics, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan on July 24-August 9 in 2020.
