The Migori Senatorial race has attracted the mighty and wealthy.

With 15 aspirants having already declared their interest for the seat, the contest can only be compared to a battle of the titans.

The contest took a different turn after incumbent Wilfred Machage announced that he will be vying for the Kuria West Parliamentary seat following his fall out with Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Odinga.

Machage will battle it out with the incumbent Mathias Robi in one of the most followed contests in the region.

Robi has, however, expressed confidence that he will beat Machage hands down.

According to Robi, Machage is no threat to him since he has a poor performance scoreboard.

Former Migori MP Charles Oyugi, Former National Youth Council chairman Billy Mijungu and former Migori speaker Gordon Ogola are among the candidates who have declared interest for the seat.

Others in the race are Michael Ogola, Gad Awuonda, Dickson Ogola, Ochieng Mbeo, Solomon Hodo, John Magaiwa and Oluoch Nyamula.
