Speaking to the residents on Monday at a meeting convened to improve security in the area, Dennis Wanjala, the area residential representative, challenged the unemployed residents to start up small enterprises to keep them engaged.

Wanjala stated that idleness in the estate was not allowed asking the residents to keep themselves engaged.

“We need to start up small scale businesses in our estates as a way of creating job opportunities. By creating small scale businesses, the locals will have access to readily available goods,” he said.

Fildey Kemunto, an entrepreneur in the area, challenged the locals to venture into business noting that it would help them earn incomes, keep them engaged and instil a sense of self-reliance to improve the economy.

She further encouraged both the women and youths to engage most of their leisure time in doing constructive work like for economic empowerment.
