Carwash residents have been suffering from poor drainage over the years, a situation that even prompted them to storm Kisumu County governor Jack Ranguma’s office in March demanding that the county government repairs the drainage menace.

Speaking to Journalists in his Ward office at Kenya Re today, MCA Achayo said that he is currently in talks with the German government through its Embassy to seek donors funds towards the project.

“I am very much optimistic that the talks will bear fruits. The German government has already expressed interest in developing the area,” said MCA Achayo.

Among the issues affecting Carwash residents is the blocked sewer lines and the freely flowing sewerage which has since irritated those residents.

County Secretary Humphrey Nakitare commenting on the same said that the move by the MCA to seek for donors to sponsor the project was welcome by the county government and challenged other MCAs to also try seeking for international donors to help develop their Wards.

Nakitare said that this is the only way Kisumu could be developed.
