Construction of the Migosi/Lolwe police post has been completed.
The police post was being built by the Kisumu Central Constituency Development Fund and is set to open anytime beginning July.
The police post project was initiated after residents in Migosi Ward complained of unavailability of security personnel and less frequent police patrols in the area.
Migosi MCA Paul Achayo told the press on Tuesday that various guests from both levels of government are expected during the unveiling of the police post month.
“This was a CDF initiative and so we cannot ignore the Central government as issues security was not devolved to counties. We expect officials from the Interior Ministry and the county government,” said Achayo.
Achayo was speaking at his ward office near Kenya Re estate in Kisumu.
Kisumu City Residents’ Voice Association Chairman Audi Ogada hailed the construction of the police post saying that it was going to go a long way in enhancing security in the area.
He asked the police to heighten their patrols in the area as they await the official opening of the police post to reduce on the cases of criminal activities in the area.
