In a tweet on Wednesday, the firebrand lawyer agreed with Kenyatta's eulogy of Matiba when he preside over his memorial service at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi Wednesday, lauding him for acknowledging the former Kiharu lawmaker's contribution to the nation's current well being.

Just like the President, he acknowledged Matiba's struggle for the realization of multiparty democracy, noting that he was among the few leaders who used their state offices solely to improve Kenyans' lives.

"For the first time Mr Despot Uhuru Kenyatta you are right, Matiba was mong a few Kenyan elite who never exploited their public positions to be cone billionaires," he said.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial contestant further hailed the President's acknowledgement of the demised hero's suffering in the hands of retired President Daniel Moi's Nyayo era.

Matiba was detained over his multiparty push in the 1990s, with a section of political players, his friends and former political detainees observing that the same heavily contributed to his deteriorated health and ultimate April 15 death.

"And yes, he was detained without trial, tortured and maimed by your tutor Moi. The same way you have tortured and detained me," he added.
