NASA coalition activist Miguna Miguna has hit out at Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, after he said he (Miguna) was not deported from Kenya during his recent standoff with the government.
Miguna had been detained in a toilet at JKIA's Terminal 2, since Monday, March 26, after he arrived from Canada where he had been deported on February 6.
He was later dragged into an Emirates plane to Dubai, three days later.
Appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on National Security to respond to their queries surrounding the Miguna issue, Matiang'i said Miguna was not arrested nor detained at JKIA and that the government of Kenya did not seize his passport at JKIA.
"He has since admitted to the same," said Matiang'i on Tuesday, adding that Miguna was not deported but was removed as an undocumented person.
Through a series of tweets, Miguna termed Matiag'i's statements as lies.
"ABDUCTED and DETAINED INCOMMUNICADO in a toilet at Terminal 2, JKIA, by the despots, with limited access only given to @kamandamucheke of the @HakiKNCHR. @FredMatiangi lies that I detained myself in this toilet and the compromised media reports it as "news!"" he tweeted.
Citing the police who dragged him at JKIA, Miguna added: "these are Fred Matiang'i's, @JBoinnet's and Kihalangwa's THUGS violating my rights, assaulting me, refusing me entry into Kenya and disobeying court orders. They did this at the JKIA. Were they from Jupiter? #Matiang'iLies."
The politician and lawyer said Matiang'i was a disgrace to Kenyans, terming him a criminal after failing to obey a court order.
"Mr. @FredMatiangi, you are a disgrace to the human race and the people of Kenya. You are a CONVICTED CRIMINAL who was sentenced by Justice Odunga less than two weeks ago. Your lies are transparent rubbish. You will pay for BRUTALISING ME. Mark my word! #Matiang'iLies," he noted.
The CS was accompanied by Interior Chief Administrative Secretary Patrick ole Ntutu, Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, IG Joseph Boinnet and Immigration Director Gordon Kihalangwa, Matiang'i.
Matiang'i, Boinnet and Kihalangwa were convicted and charged for contempt of court and fined Sh200,000 each by High Court Judge, Justice George Odunga following applications by Miguna's lawyers.
