Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna has castigated the Nairobi Police boss Japheth Koome over police response to demonstrations in the city.

Miguna said that Koome should take responsibility over the death of nine year old girl (Stephanie Moraa) who was shot dead last Sunday in Mathare.

"He needed to take responsibility for that. This needed to be condemned and the girl's family needed to be condoled. Demonstrations are allowed by law and nobody should die for demonstrating to express their disappointments," Miguna told NTV on Tuesday morning.

He noted that democracy doesn't mean 'unanimity and people have to disagree'.

"Vibrant human beings don't have to agree all the time on all issues. The fact that a person disagrees with you does not mean that the person is wrong and you are right. What is free and fair must be seen to be so," he added.

Miguna said the issues that the opposition has raised on the electoral process must be addressed for the country to be able to move forward as one.
