Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna has disagreed with the NASA movement over secession.
Miguna faulted those pushing for separation from Kenya after the secession bill was drafted by Homa Bay Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma.
He said the secession debate was a way of diverting attention from the real issues facing the country at the moment.
"The issue secession is diversionary, it is distracting from the real issues. I am a pan-Africanist, I am a nationalist, and I am not a secessionist. And I don't think at this time it is a useful debate. It is a debate that has been brought forward by people who do not want to discuss real issue. The real issue right now is electoral fraud,” said Miguna.
Kaluma's Bill seeks to secede 40 counties to form the Paople's Republic of Kenya.
He has already has handed the Bill to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
