In a Twitter post on Wednesday, the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general said he had never referred to Khalwale as a traitor, adding that it is evident that he is a 'coward and hypocrite’.

“Rubbish! Khalwale is not "everyone." He is a certified coward and hypocrite. I didn't call him a "traitor;" I said he is a coward and hypocrite, which is self-evident. @KoinangeJeff is only interviewing him because he is now anti H.E. @RailaOdinga!” read Miguna’s tweet.

Miguna was responding to remarks made by Khalwale during an interview on Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Live show.

Speaking during the interview, Khalwale criticised Miguna for accusing various leaders in the National Super Alliance (NASA) of being traitors.

Miguna recently accused NASA strategist David Ndii and CEO Norman Magaya of working with Jubilee claims that were dismissed by NASA leader Raila Odinga.

“Miguna has never tasted power in his life as he has never held any elective office. Raila’s swearing-in was the nearest he was getting to becoming something in politics and therefore the excitement is understandable,” said Khalwale.

“It was a wild shot for him to start calling everybody a traitor…He had earlier on called Wetangula and Kalonzo the same. We should not put too much premium that,” he added.
