The fact that lawyer Miguna Miguna is a new political force on the local scene is now an open secret, even to those who had once written him off.
His criticism of the Jubilee administration and his administration of opposition leader Raila Odinga's oath have given him political mileage.
Miguna, a self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) general has reinvented his political career which had hit a brick wall five years ago.
According to analysts, the vocal lawyer will give his opponents a run for their money if he decides to vie for an elective position in the 2022 General Election.
Political risk analyst Dismas Mokua opined that Nyando MP Jared Okello should be a worried man as Miguna will easily oust him should he decide to contest the seat during the 2022 poll.
" He has grown serious political capital but not to a level of inheriting Raila's base...if he wants to run for an MP, that may be a walk in the park in Raila's area. Actually, the MP for Nyando should be very worried," Mokua was quoted by a local daily.
Miguna contested in the ODM party nominations for Nyando MP seat in 2007 but lost to current Kisumu Senator Fred Outa.
