Opposition's National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Miguna Miguna now claims that the opposition has been outwitted by the ruling Jubilee Party.
In a tweet Monday, Miguna claimed that the President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto team is maximizing on the current political romance between the government and the opposing National Super Alliance (NASA) side to trample on the opposition.
The embattled leader who claimed that money exchanged hands before the March 9 deal between Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party chief Raila Odinga claimed that Jubilee is now using the bought friendship to politically dismantle the side.
The firebrand lawyer who participated in the coronation of Odinga as the People's President in Uhuru Park, Nairobi, on January 30 again faulted the reconciliation and the recent unity pledges between Odinga and Kenyatta, saying that it has given Jubilee the much needed time to restrategize.
''The Hand Cheque was Jubilee Party's tyrants' masterstroke. In exchange for payouts from looted public funds, they got artificial legitimacy and breathing space. They have turned the ODM party and NASA into mincemeat,'' he said.
This follows Ruto's apparently successful efforts at the Coast, a region deemed to be allied to the opposition, with a section of ODM leaders from the region on Sunday pledging support of his 2022 presidential bid.
