In a Twitter post on Friday, the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta for nominating Nyachae, terming the move as authoritarian.

Miguna further attacked Nyachae, referring to him as an intellectual dwarf.

“The despot @UKenyatta is trying to extend his authoritarian streak against the rule of law to East Africa by appointing intellectual dwarfs and failed political surrogates like Nyachae,” read Miguna’s tweet.

The former Constitutional Implementation Committee chairman took his oath of office on Friday at the 19th Ordinary Summit of East African Community (EAC) Heads of State in Kampala, Uganda.

Nyachae, who spearheaded Uhuru’s campaign in the Gusii region during the August 8 and October 26 polls, was nominated by the Head of State after missing appointment to the East African Legislative Assembly.

The EACJ is one of the organs of the East African Community (EAC) established under Article 9 of the Treaty for the Establishment of the EAC.
